What changes between EG and HG

These two share the 1/144 size, so the finished kits stand shoulder to shoulder on the shelf. Entry Grade is engineered to be the easiest build in Gunpla: a low part count, tabs you can often twist apart by hand, and clean color separation with no stickers needed. High Grade asks a little more of you and gives more range in return, with far more suits to choose from and, on the trade-off side, more parts and sometimes sticker-based color. If you have never built a kit, EG removes every bit of friction. If you want the widest catalog and do not mind a slightly longer build, HG is the everyday pick.

The verdict

Get the EG if

you are new to Gunpla or buying for someone who is, and you want the lowest-friction build that still looks right straight off the runners with no tools or stickers.

Get the HG if

you want this suit affordably, want to finish it in an evening or two, or plan to build several kits without breaking the bank. It is the easy, everyday yes.

We have built and graded both: the EG scored 7.8 and the HG scored 7.4 out of 10. Read the full reviews above for the detail behind the numbers.
