What changes between SD and RG
Two small, affordable kits with opposite priorities. Super Deformed is a fast, characterful chibi build with almost no frustration. Real Grade packs an inner frame, tiny color-separated parts, and decals into a true-proportion 1/144, so it looks like a miniature real machine but asks for patience and a steady hand. Take SD for a quick, fun, low-stress build; take RG when you want serious detail in a small package.
Get the SD if
you want a quick, cheap, characterful build with loads of personality, or a fun one that a kid can put together without getting frustrated.
Get the RG if
you want the most detail you can get in a small 1/144 footprint, you are past your first few kits, and fiddly, rewarding assembly with a decal sheet sounds like the fun part.
We have graded the RG version at 8.6 out of 10. Read the full review above before you decide.
