EB-06r Graze Ritter (McGillis Corps)
A palace-guard Graze in ceremonial white, and honestly one of the tidier HGIBO builds you'll do.

This is the Graze family at its most refined, and I came away liking it more than I expected.
The Ritter dresses up the standard Graze skeleton with a bigger shoulder thruster pod, a new blade-antenna head, and a knight sword, and none of that extra bulk costs it the series' reliable range of motion. It is not a showpiece the way an MG is, but for an HG built around a mid-2010s IBO frame it holds a pose better than it has any right to.
Best for: IBO fans who want McGillis' honor-guard Graze on the shelf without a weekend-long build
What it is
The Graze Ritter is Gjallarhorn's ceremonial commander variant of the workhorse EB-06 Graze, and this release gives it to McGillis Fareed, who piloted one in season two partly to honor Carta Issue's memory. Compared to a plain Graze, the sculpt adds a chicken-crest blade antenna, a reworked chest with new outer armor, and a large shoulder-mounted thruster pod that actually reads as a design choice rather than filler bulk. You get both ground and space loadout options, plus the Ritter's signature Knight Blade alongside the standard rifle and battle axe. Snapping it together feels like a well-worn IBO kit, no surprises, just steady assembly and a suit that looks the part the moment the last piece clicks in.
The catch
The shoulder armor is the one part that gets flagged again and again by people who've built it, it likes to pop apart at the connection point and takes a bit of fiddling to seat properly, especially once you start posing the arms. Those same big shoulder pads also eat into arm articulation, raising them all the way up gets a little cramped. Color separation leans on stickers for the white trim lines and there's a foil sticker in the mix too, so this is not a kit where you skip decals and still get the full look. And if you already built the Carta's Graze Ritter retail release, this is a very similar experience in a different coat of paint.
Who it's for
Grab this if you're building out an IBO Gjallarhorn shelf and want the Ritter variant specifically for McGillis, or if you just like the cleaner ceremonial silhouette over the base Graze. It is also a fair pick for someone newer to gunpla who wants proper ball-jointed articulation without MG part counts, the joints are solid and forgiving. Skip it if you've already got Carta's Graze Ritter and don't care about the color and lore distinction, you'd mostly be building the same kit twice. Skip it too if sticker-reliant color separation is a dealbreaker for you.
The build story
What the build is actually like, and the engineering worth knowing about.
This goes together the way most HGIBO kits do, gates are placed reasonably, cleanup is quick, and there's nothing here that trips up a builder who's done a Graze or Gundam Barbatos before. The main watch-point is the shoulder armor assembly, it's a snap-together shell over the joint that some builders find comes apart if you're not careful clipping it on, so take an extra beat there rather than forcing it.
Where it earns its keep is articulation: the double-sided ball neck, rotating waist, swiveling thighs and deep knee bend give you real dynamic poses, not just the stiff forward-back swing older HG lines were stuck with. The Knight Blade is the standout accessory, a proper two-handed sword that suits the Ritter's ceremonial-guard identity better than the regular Graze's axe, and having both ground thrusters and space-ready parts in one box is solid value for an HG price point.
Lore & trivia
- 01The Graze Ritter is a ceremonial, up-armored variant of the standard EB-06 Graze used by Gjallarhorn officers for official duties rather than frontline grunt work.
- 02McGillis Fareed piloted a Graze Ritter in the second season of Iron-Blooded Orphans partly as a tribute to the suit's previous notable pilot, Carta Issue.
- 03The suit's blade-shaped head antenna and enlarged shoulder thruster distinguish it visually from the plain Graze, signaling its higher rank within Gjallarhorn's mobile suit corps.
