The verdict

This is a well built HG that earns its price mostly through the backpack.

I went in expecting a simple recolor of the original 00 Sky and came out having spent a solid hour just swapping the Armed Wing Binders between rifle, sword, and combined rifle configurations. The white and blue scheme reads cleaner on the shelf than the original Sky's busier palette, and the effect parts genuinely change how the kit poses. It is not a technical showcase, but it is a satisfying, well proportioned HG that rewards the time you put into it.

Best for: Build Divers fans who want the definitive version of Riku's Sky and builders who like fiddling with modular backpack weapons

What it is

The 00 Sky Moebius is Bandai's upgraded take on Riku Mikami's personal machine from Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE, and you can feel the upgrade in hand. The silhouette keeps the 00 Sky's proportions but tightens them up with thicker horns, redone Sky Bracers on the forearms, and new toe sculpts that change the stance just enough to look distinct next to the original release. The main event is the backpack. The Armed Wing Binders fold out into a two handed sword, split into a pair of short rifles, or combine into one longer rifle, and building it the first time feels like solving a small puzzle rather than just clipping parts together. Add the light wing effect parts and you get a kit that poses more dramatically than its price tag suggests.

The catch

The kit leans on foil stickers for some of the color separation, which is standard for this price point but means careful application if you want a clean look up close. Reviewers who also own the original GN-0000DVR/S Sky are split on whether the Moebius is worth double dipping since the core frame and proportions are shared, so it reads more as a definitive upgrade than a must own companion piece. Build time runs long for an HG, with builders reporting somewhere in the six to seven hour range once you factor in every weapon configuration, so go in knowing this is not a quick weeknight build. The stand compatible posing is strong, but a few of the more dramatic full burst poses genuinely need a display stand to balance.

Pick this up if you are into Build Divers, want the version of the Sky that actually made it to screen last in the show, or just like HG kits with a real gimmick to chew on instead of a straightforward snap and pose. It is also a good pick for anyone who wants a big dramatic loadout kit without stepping up to MG prices. Skip it if you already own the original 00 Sky HWS and are not particularly attached to the Build Divers storyline, since the frame underneath is the same and the differences are mostly cosmetic and in the backpack. If you want maximum part count value at HG scale, this delivers it.

What the build is actually like, and the engineering worth knowing about.

Assembly is snap-fit with no cement or paint required, and the parts go together cleanly, but the backpack subassembly takes real attention since it is doing double duty as three different weapon forms. Expect to spend noticeably longer on this HG than a typical entry kit, closer to what you'd budget for a small MG side project, mostly because you will want to build and test every configuration rather than leave parts in the bag.

The redone Sky Bracers and toe sculpts give the frame slightly better presence than the original release, and the joints hold the more aggressive full burst poses well once you use the included stand adapter. The standout here is the sheer accessory count for an HG price point: sniper rifle, assault rifle, dual SMGs with optional bayonets, dual laser swords, and the two-handed sword all draw from the same backpack system, which is unusual generosity for this grade.
