The verdict

This is a fun, weird little kit that takes a suit I already liked and dresses it up as a one-suit armory.

The command sword, arm shield with two stowed combat knives, heavy machine gun, and missile launcher pack more loadout into one box than most HG kits bother with. I will say the color separation leans on you doing some of the work, but the posing and the sheer amount of gear make it worth the shelf space.

Best for: Gundam Build Series collectors and HG builders who want a heavily armed suit with more gimmick than the average 1/144

The full review

What it is

This is a Gundam Build Series variant, the 00 Qan[T] reworked with SD Command Gundam styling and repainted into a deep green desert-leaning scheme. What struck me building it is how much gear Bandai crammed in. You get a command sword, an arm shield that actually stores two double-edged combat knives inside it, a heavy machine gun, and a missile launcher, all of which can clip onto the backpack when not in hand. The Qan[T] frame underneath is the familiar 2010-era 1/144 mold, but the new 2021 Battlogue runners for the armor and weapons give it a distinct silhouette. Snapping the shield open to reveal the hidden knives was the single best moment of the build for me.

The catch

The frame comes from an older mold, so the ankles in particular show up in a plain orange plastic without much color breakdown, and the kit leans on foil stickers rather than stickers or paint apps to sell some of the detail. A few build reports mention the model feeling a little fragile at the joints, with small breaks after repeated posing, so I would not go rough on it. At around 2,200 yen it undercuts most HGs for what is in the box, but this is a Build Series kit built around a specific ONA release, so it can run harder to find than a mainline HG once initial stock dries up.

Who it's for

If you already like the 00 Qan[T] silhouette and want a version that swaps elegance for firepower, this is an easy pick, especially if you are following the Gundam Breaker Battlogue or Build Metaverse side stories. Builders who want pristine color separation straight off the runners without touchup should adjust expectations on the ankles and a couple of other panels. For anyone assembling a squad of Build Series customs or who just wants an HG that comes loaded with swappable hardware, I would call this one of the better value picks in that specific lane.

The build story

What the build is actually like, and the engineering worth knowing about.

The build itself is quick and friendly, this is still an HG at heart, but the new Battlogue armor runners clip on cleanly over the older Qan[T] inner structure. Gate placement is mostly on flat, hidden surfaces, and cleanup is minimal outside a couple of visible nub marks on the shield and gun. The foil stickers for the visor and a few accents go on easily but do not hold up to much handling, so I would seal them early if you plan to display this one long term.

Where the kit earns its keep is articulation and loadout. The head runs on a double-jointed ball neck, shoulders swing forward for a wider reach than the base 00 Qan[T], and the double-jointed knees combined with multi-directional ankles let it hold low, aggressive stances without a stand. Storing the two combat knives inside the arm shield is the standout piece of design, and having a missile launcher and heavy machine gun both on tap gives this kit a genuinely different feel in hand than a standard beam-rifle-and-shield loadout.

Lore & trivia

  • 01The GNT-0000SDV Gundam 00 Command Qan[T] is a custom Gunpla that adds SD Command Gundam styling elements onto the base 00 Qan[T] frame, repainting it into a deep green scheme.
  • 02It first released as an HGGBB (High Grade Gundam Breaker Battlogue) kit and later saw a Desert Type variant plus option parts sets, tying it to the Gundam Breaker Battlogue ONA and Gundam Build Metaverse.
  • 03While the armor and weapon runners are new molds introduced for the Battlogue line, the underlying Qan[T] body runners trace back to the original 2010 HG Gundam 00 Qan[T] release.
  • 04The unmodified GNT-0000 00 Qan[T] this kit is based on also appears piloted in Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE, separate from this customized Command variant.
