Mobile Suit Option Set 7
A weapons locker in a box, not a mobile suit, and exactly as good as that sounds.

This is the option set I reach for when an IBO kit on my shelf needs a bigger gun.
It is not a mobile suit, it is a loadout, and once I stopped expecting a torso and legs I really enjoyed what it actually delivers. The railgun is the star, oversized and mean looking in a way that instantly changes the silhouette of whatever it is bolted to. For the price it is one of the most useful accessory packs Bandai put out for the IBO line.
Best for: IBO builders who already own a Flauros, Kimaris Vidar, or similar HG kit and want a heavier weapon loadout and extra posing options
What it is
Option Set 7 is part of Bandai's HGI-BA accessory line for Iron-Blooded Orphans, a small parts runner sold on its own rather than bundled with a suit. In the box you get a railgun, a second long-range railgun variant, two shoulder-mounted cannons, two assault knives, two expressive open hand parts, and the joint adapters to mount all of it onto compatible HG IBO kits. I built the whole thing in well under an hour. There is no frame to assemble, just weapons and hands, so the appeal is entirely about what it does to a kit you already have on the shelf. Clipping the railgun onto a suit and seeing the whole pose change was genuinely satisfying.
The catch
The obvious catch is that this is not a standalone model. If you do not already own a compatible HG IBO suit, mainly Flauros or Kimaris Vidar, there is nothing here to display by itself beyond a pile of weapons on a stand. The joint parts are IBO-specific, so compatibility with kits outside that line is limited or requires trimming. It is also a light build in the literal sense, snap-fit, minimal color separation beyond molded plastic, and a handful of stickers for detail, so do not expect the engineering depth of a full HG suit kit.
Who it's for
Buy this if you already have an IBO-era HG kit on your bench and want to change up its silhouette and loadout without buying a whole second suit. It is a cheap way to make a static shelf pose feel more dynamic, and the railgun especially earns its keep in photos. Skip it if you are new to Gunpla and want your first kit to be an actual mobile suit, or if you do not own anything in the IBO line for it to attach to. This is a supporting accessory, not a centerpiece.
The build story
What the build is actually like, and the engineering worth knowing about.
There is no frame or body to construct, so the build is just clipping weapon parts off the runner and snapping the joint adapters together. Gate marks are small and easy to clean up, and nothing here fights you the way a full articulated kit sometimes does. It is a low-stress, low-commitment build you can finish in one sitting.
The standout piece is the railgun, oversized and imposing when mounted, with a second long-range configuration for variety. The two shoulder cannons and assault knives round out the loadout, and the extra expressive hand parts are a nice touch for dynamic firing poses. For the price, the part count and pose variety it adds to a suit you already own is a good trade.
