The verdict

I like this kit a lot more than a standard HG has any right to be liked, and almost all of that comes down to the clear parts.

This is the Gundam Base Fukuoka release of the Full Armor Unicorn Perfectibility, redone with bright clear green psycho frame runners and a full weapons loadout, and once it is together and lit from behind it looks like nothing else on my shelf. The catch is that it is an event exclusive, so the price and availability are the real story here, not the plastic.

Best for: Unicorn fans who already know the Destroy Mode silhouette and want the clear psycho frame version enough to hunt down a Gundam Base exclusive

The full review

What it is

This is the Fukuoka limited run of the HG Full Armor Unicorn Gundam Perfectibility in Destroy Mode, tied to the Gundam Scramble in Fukuoka event, molded with the psycho frame parts and beam javelin blade in bright clear green instead of the usual clear blue. It comes loaded, Hyper Beam Javelin, Armed Armor BS, VN, XC, and DE all included, plus the feather-like movable stabilizer unit on the back. Snapping it together, the articulation is the same generous HG Full Armor Unicorn engineering: ball jointed waist and thighs, 90 degree elbow and knee bends, a neck that pivots and swivels. Posing it into a full spread with all four Armed Armors out is genuinely satisfying.

The catch

The honest issue is not the build, it is getting one. This was sold only at Gundam Base Fukuoka as part of a limited event run, so retail listings you find now are resellers marking it up well past a normal HG price, sometimes several times over. Because the frame parts are clear plastic, nub marks and gate stress show more than they would on solid color runners, so cleanup needs a steadier hand than a typical HGUC. It is also still an HG under the hood, the part count and panel line detail do not match an MG Full Armor Unicorn, and the small Armed Armor pegs can feel a little loose after repeated repositioning.

Who it's for

Buy this if you already love the Full Armor Unicorn Destroy Mode kit and specifically want the clear frame treatment, or if you collect Gundam Base event exclusives and the Fukuoka green colorway speaks to you. Skip it if you just want a good Unicorn Gundam kit at a fair price, the standard HGUC Unicorn or the regular clear-blue Perfectibility release will get you nearly the same build experience without the reseller tax. This is a kit for people chasing the specific piece, not people shopping for value.

The build story

What the build is actually like, and the engineering worth knowing about.

The build itself follows the well known Full Armor Unicorn Destroy Mode HG runners, so anyone who has built the standard or clear blue Perfectibility version will find no surprises in the assembly order. Gate placement is typical HG, mostly on non-visible inner faces, but because these particular runners are molded in translucent green, any rough nub cleanup is much easier to spot than it would be on a solid color kit, so I slowed down and used a sharp side cutter plus a light sand on anything facing outward.

Where this kit earns its keep is articulation and loadout. The waist and upper thigh ball joints let Destroy Mode's exaggerated silhouette actually hold a dynamic pose instead of just splaying open, and elbows and knees bend close to 90 degrees, enough for real dynamic stances. Having Hyper Beam Javelin, Armed Armor BS, VN, XC, and DE all included in one HG box is unusually generous for the grade, and the movable feather-shaped stabilizer on the back is a nice small touch that most people miss until they are holding the finished model.
