The verdict

This is a reshell done right, not a lazy one.

Bandai took the xvb-xd Farsia frame Fram Nara already piloted and cut new legs and a new baton for the AGE-1 era successor, and the result is a kit that looks like its own suit even though most of the runners are recycled. I like it more than I expected to going in. It will never be anyone's centerpiece build, but as a quick, cheerful HG with a genuinely different silhouette from its donor kit, it earns its keep.

Best for: Gundam AGE collectors and Farsia completionists who want the Fram Nara successor suit without hunting a full price MG

The full review

What it is

The Fawn Farsia is Bandai's Premium Bandai reshell of the earlier HG Farsia, built for the X-Rounder successor design Fram Nara pilots later in Gundam AGE's Three Generations arc. Underneath the vivid pink and white shell it shares the bulk of its runners with the original Farsia, but the legs are newly molded with a slimmer, more feminine line, and it comes with a new Fawn Farsia Baton, a rod weapon that projects a beam ribbon instead of a blade. The five Fawn Farsia Bits store neatly in the back binder and click on and off cleanly. Assembly took me an evening, no drama, and the finished pose looked distinctly its own suit rather than a Farsia in a new coat.

The catch

Be honest with yourself about what you are buying: this is largely the same tooling as the original HG Farsia with a legs swap and one new weapon, not a from scratch kit, so if you already own the Farsia the novelty is smaller than the price suggests. It was a Premium Bandai / Bandai Hobby Online Shop exclusive, so secondary market prices run well above a standard HG and stock is inconsistent. Articulation caps out where the older Farsia frame caps out too, knees stop around 150 degrees and the head is boxed in by the collar panel, so don't expect RG-level range for the money.

Who it's for

Buy this if you are chasing the AGE Three Generations cast, want the Fawn Farsia's specific pink colorway and bits loadout on the shelf, or already love the Farsia sculpt and want a variant next to it. Skip it if you are shopping by price per part, since you are paying reshell markup for new legs and a weapon rather than a wholly new engineering pass, and skip it if you need heavy pose flexibility, the older frame just is not built for that. For most other AGE fans a standard HG Farsia will scratch the same itch for less.

The build story

What the build is actually like, and the engineering worth knowing about.

Nothing about the build surprised me in a bad way. Parts came off the runners clean, the color separation on the pink and white shell is handled well by molded plastic rather than leaning on stickers, and the new leg parts snapped together with the same confident fit as the rest of the kit. If you have built the original Farsia this will feel immediately familiar, just with a different leg sprue in the mix.

The Fawn Farsia Baton is the standout addition, a rod weapon that reads as a beam ribbon emitter rather than another beam saber, and it gives the kit a distinct pose language. The five Fawn Farsia Bits peg into the back binder securely and can be arranged in a floating funnel display without sagging. Articulation follows the donor Farsia frame: ball jointed shoulders and thighs, elbows to about 90 degrees, knees to around 150, waist rotation that loosens once the skirt is raised. It holds a static display pose well, it is just not a kit built for deep dynamic posing.

Lore & trivia

  • 01The xvb-fnc Fawn Farsia is a successor design to the xvb-xd Farsia, reworked for an X-Rounder pilot with the original's Auxiliary Propulsion Base replaced by conventional back thrusters.

  • 03The suit carries five Fawn Farsia Bits, funnel type remote weapons developed by the Vagan and fired using an X-Rounder's brainwave control.
