YZ-R28-SR[FH] Ez-SR-FOXHOUND
A recon-styled recolor of a genuinely clever three-in-one kit, built on the bones of the 08th MS Team's Ez-8.

I like this kit more for what it's built on than for what it adds on top.
The Foxhound is a P-Bandai head and color swap over the excellent HGBF Ez-SR base, and that base is the real star, an 11-runner combination kit that lets you build three distinct Team SRSC loadouts from one box. Foxhound's own contribution is a recon head and a long barrel beam rifle, and it's a nice look, but you're paying exclusive-release money mostly for parts you could get in the standard release for less.
Best for: 08th MS Team fans and Ez-8 completionists who specifically want the recon-styled variant and don't mind hunting a P-Bandai release
What it is
This is a P-Bandai recolor and head-swap of the HGBF Ez-SR, itself a combination kit built on the RX-79[G] Ez-8 Gundam mold from Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team. The base kit ships with enough runners and alternate parts to build any of Team SRSC's three custom units (Intruder, Eliminator, Shadow Phantom), and Foxhound layers its own head unit with a data-gathering sensor array plus a new long barrel beam rifle that doubles as a heat weapon in melee. Building it feels like assembling a proven, older-generation HG design, straightforward snap-together work with a satisfying amount of loadout swapping once the frame is done.
The catch
The Ez-8 base underneath this is a solid but not cutting-edge mold, so don't expect MG-level color separation or deep panel lines, some of the finish is on you if you want it to pop. Articulation shares the Ez-8's known limits: the torso has ball joints but no real ab crunch, and both the front and rear skirts restrict leg movement more than modern HGs. Because this is a P-Bandai exclusive from 2016, it comes and goes in reissues and typically costs more than a same-tier retail HG, so hunting it down is part of the deal.
Who it's for
Get this if you already like the Ez-8 lineage or Team SRSC specifically and want the recon-flavored Foxhound head and rifle rather than the standard Ez-SR colorway. It rewards people who enjoy mixing and swapping parts across a kit family more than people chasing a single showcase build. Skip it if you want fluid modern posing or you're not committed to tracking down a P-Bandai release, the standard HGBF Ez-SR gets you nearly the same engineering for less money and less searching.
The build story
What the build is actually like, and the engineering worth knowing about.
The build itself is uncomplicated snap-fit work true to the Ez-8 heritage, gates are placed reasonably and cleanup is quick. Where it gets interesting is after the main frame is together, since the kit's combination-parts design means you're choosing which head, weapon, and shoulder attachments go on, and that decision-making stretches out the build time in a good way.
The standout piece is the long barrel beam rifle, which swaps barrels for a ranged configuration or serves as a heated melee weapon once the barrel is switched, a nice two-in-one accessory rather than a single-use prop. You also get a 3 inch cannon, a shield, twin beam sabers racked on the forearm cover, and the option to mount a 6-tube homing missile launcher on the shoulder, a generous weapons loadout for an HG in this price band. Articulation is the weak link: the torso ball joints work fine but there's no real ab crunch, and both skirt sections cut into leg range more than I'd like for a kit this recent in real-world release date.
