The Alexander is one of the strangest designs Code Geass ever put on screen, a hybrid Knightmare that shifts between bipedal and a quadrupedal insect stance, and Bandai's Mechanic Collection kit is a simple, honest way to own it.

This line is not trying to be Gunpla, it is a 1/35 snap-together character kit built around molded color and a decal sheet rather than an inner frame, so go in expecting a quick, faithful build rather than a display of mechanical engineering.

What it is

This 2012 kit reproduces Akito Hyuga's Alexander, the prototype special-operations Knightmare Frame built around a light, high-mobility frame and its signature Insect Mode transformation. Box contents run to a plastic sprue set, a decal sheet, and a vinyl part, which is a slightly richer kit than the plain sprue-only Angel kits on the Evangelion side of Bandai's catalog, and the extra vinyl piece is a nice touch for a design this mechanically distinct. The proportions and silhouette, that light frame with sub-arms tucked beside the cockpit, are what sell this as Alexander, and the kit is built to get that shape in front of you fast.

The catch

This is a 1/35 snap kit from the Mechanic Collection line, not a scaled-down Gunpla, so do not expect an inner frame, extensive articulation, or the kind of engineering ambition MG or even HG kits bring. Alexander's signature Insect Mode transformation is a design feature of the character, not something this kit is built to replicate through posable joints, you get one representative stance. Because the Alexander line only has this single entry and the accessory-loaded Type-02 pilot variants reviewed separately, hands-on build reports specific to this kit are thin online, so treat cleanup and fit expectations as general to the line rather than confirmed for this exact release.
