The verdict

This is Ayano Kosaka's personal Alexander Type-02 from the Wyvern Squad roster in Akito the Exiled, and it is honestly best understood as one third of a matched set rather than a standout kit on its own.

Scalemates lists it as sharing new parts on the existing Alexander tooling rather than an all-new mold, which tracks with what you would expect from three simultaneous pilot-custom releases, same core frame, different colors and loadout details per pilot.

Best for: Wyvern Squad completionists building the full trio of Type-02 pilot customs, less compelling as a standalone purchase

What it is

Released in 2013, this kit represents Ayano's Type-02 variant of the Alexander, the mass-produced version of Akito's prototype used by the three new Wyvern Squad members after the Battle of St Petersburg. Box contents are plastic sprue and a decal sheet, keeping it in line with the rest of the 1/35 Mechanic Collection snap-kit format Bandai used across this whole Code Geass line. Because it is built on the existing Alexander Type-02 chassis with new parts rather than fresh tooling, the core shape will look very familiar if you already have the Akito Custom or either of the sibling pilot kits on your shelf, with the differences concentrated in color and small equipment details.

The catch

Since this shares its base tooling with the Akito Custom and the Leila and Ryo versions, buying it in isolation gets you a kit that looks close to a recolor of something you may already own rather than a distinct model. Like the rest of the Mechanic Collection line, this is a simple 1/35 snap kit with no inner frame and limited articulation, not a Gunpla-tier build. Because these three pilot variants were a niche, simultaneous 2013 release, verified builder reports and even basic price and stock history are thin, this is one of the more obscure corners of Bandai's Code Geass catalog.

Who it's for

This makes the most sense as part of a set with the Leila and Ryo versions, giving you the full Wyvern Squad roster with matched engineering and a shared display base concept. On its own, it is a tougher sell, casual Code Geass fans are better served by the more recognizable Lancelot or Guren kits, and even Akito the Exiled fans should think about whether they want just one Type-02 pilot custom or the complete trio before committing.

The build story

What the build is actually like, and the engineering worth knowing about.

Box contents are plastic sprue and a decal sheet, no polycaps, no vinyl parts noted for this release. Assembly should be quick and low-tool, in keeping with the rest of the Alexander Type-02 family.

Because this kit reuses the Type-02 base with new parts rather than an all-new tool, the underlying build experience should track closely with the Akito Custom and its siblings, the differences are concentrated in surface color and small accessory details specific to Ayano's loadout.
