I like this kit more than its reputation suggests.
It is, structurally, the RE/100 Gun-EZ wearing new colors and a new backpack, and if you already own that kit you already know exactly how this one goes together. But the twin-tail thruster binders genuinely change the silhouette, the loadout is generous for a suit nobody outside League Militaire lore fans has heard of, and the RE/100 line's semi-inner-frame engineering still holds up years later.
Best for: Victory Gundam completionists and RE/100 collectors who already know they like the Gun-EZ frame and want the space-use twin
What it is
The Gun Blaster is League Militaire's space-combat answer to the ground-use Gun-EZ, and Bandai's RE/100 kit leans into that story by reusing the Gun-EZ's proven frame and swapping in a newly molded backpack with the twin-tail thruster binders that define the suit. You get a beam saber, a beam rifle, a beam bazooka, and a beam shield in the box, which is a real armament for a suit this obscure. Building it feels familiar in a good way. The semi-inner-frame construction that made the Gun-EZ pleasant to assemble carries straight over, so joints go together with confidence and nothing feels like a first draft.
The catch
This is a Premium Bandai webshop exclusive, so you are paying secondary market prices and there is no guarantee of a reissue if you miss the window. The color separation is the bigger catch for me. RE/100 kits lean on molded plastic color rather than heavy sticker use, but a lot of the finer panel detailing and trim still needs Gundam markers or actual paint to read the way the box art promises. If you build it straight from the runners with no panel lining, it looks noticeably flatter than photos suggest. And because it shares its core frame with the Gun-EZ, if you already built that kit there is not much here that will surprise your hands.
Who it's for
Buy this if you are working through the RE/100 Victory Gundam lineup, or if the twin-tail thruster silhouette is the version of this suit you actually want on your shelf. The four-weapon loadout and the reliable double-jointed articulation make it a satisfying build on its own terms, obscure suit or not. Skip it if you are new to the hobby and looking for a first kit, since the price and limited availability make it a bad entry point, or if you already have a Gun-EZ and were hoping for a substantially different build experience underneath the new parts. Panel lining tools are close to mandatory here if you want it to look finished rather than just assembled.
The build story
What the build is actually like, and the engineering worth knowing about.
Assembly follows the same semi-inner-frame logic as the Gun-EZ this kit is built on, which means clean part fit and joints that feel purposeful rather than loose. Gate placement is standard RE/100 fare, mostly on visible outer surfaces, so take your time with nippers and a bit of sanding on the limbs and torso if you want the seams invisible. Nothing about the build is fiddly or frustrating, it is a straightforward, confidence-building kit once you've got a few RE/100 or MG kits under your belt.
The engineering standout is the new backpack. The twin-tail thruster binders are articulated at their connection base, so they are not just static greeblies, they actually move and add to the posing options. Combined with the double-jointed elbows and knees and full waist rotation, this kit holds dynamic poses well for its price band. The four included weapons round out the value case, since a beam bazooka and a beam shield are not guaranteed inclusions at this scale and price.
