Master Grade

Master Grade is the line most long-term builders think of as home. At 1/100 it is big enough to feel substantial in the hand, it almost always includes a full inner frame, and the articulation and part count land in a spot that rewards care without overwhelming you. If you have ever wanted to panel line, paint, and top-coat a kit properly, MG is the grade that gives you the room to do it.

Because the line has run for so long, quality does vary. A modern Ver.Ka or a recent tooling can be a genuinely stunning engineering exercise, while some of the older molds show their age in loose joints and dated color separation. The reward for reading up before you buy is real here, which is exactly why per-kit reviews matter more at this grade than any other.

This hub also gathers the frame-heavy 1/100 cousins, the MGEX flagship tier, the reissue-focused RE/100 line, and the Full Mechanics kits, since they all live in the same size class and scratch the same itch. If you want one grade to grow into, this is it.
